This open source plugin will assist you making your website GDPR compliant by making personal data accessible to the owner of the data. Visitors (owners) don’t need user accounts to access their data. Everything works through a unique link and e-mails.

WP-GDPR integrates with some of the most well-known plugins through add-ons. This will make the data stored by the plugins available for the visitor to manage it.
List of all add-ons: https://wp-gdpr.eu/add-ons/.
Integration with:
Gravity Forms
Contact Form DB 7

How WP-GDPR Core works

The plugin creates a page where users can request access to their personal data, stored on your website. You can find this page in the list of WordPress pages.
In the backend you’ll get an overview of the requests users send and you can see which plugins collect personal data and need a ‘ask for approval’ checkbox.

Users who ask to view their personal data will get an email with a unique url on which they can view, update and download their comments and ask for a removal per comment.
When they ask for a removal, the admin has the ability to delete the comment through the wp-gdpr backend.
All emails will be sent automatically.

We made our code available on Github and are welcoming Pull Request!

We have 5 e-mail templates and they are all editable through filters or can be replaced in the theme.

1. Option one

In order to replace the email template, you can copy the template from our plugin ( wp-gdpr-core/view/email ) and move it to your theme. Place it in under theme-name/wp-gdpr-core/email/samefilename.php

From now on you can style your new placed templates as you like.

2. Option two ( Email filters )

Here are the filters for the email that is send to requestor and the dpo.

  • ‘wp_gdpr_request_email’: $email_template, $email, $url (email to requester)
  • ‘wp_gdpr_request_email_dpo’: $email_template, $email, $url (email to dpo)

Here are the filters for the email that is send to the admin for a delete request.

  • ‘wp_gdpr_admin_new_delete_request’: $email_template, $requested_email (email to admin)

Here are the filters for the email that is send to the requester and the dpo for a delete confirmation.

  • ‘wp_gdpr_delete_confirmation’: $email_template, $date_of_request, $processed_data (email to requester)
  • ‘wp_gdpr_delete_confirmation_dpo’: $email_template, $date_of_request, $processed_data (email to dpo)

Request page filters

We have added 3 filters to change the text on the request page.

  1. ‘Submit’ => ‘wp-gdpr-submit-text’
  2. ‘Warning’ => ‘wp-gdpr-warning-text’
  3. ‘This link will become deprecated after 48 hours.’ => ‘wp-gdpr-link-text’

Fatal Error

On Settings > Add-on Licensing

I got the following error

Fatal error: Class ‘wp_gdpr_edd\lib\Gdpr_Form_License’ not found in /web/htdocs/www.example.com/home/wp-content/plugins/wp-gdpr-edd-addon-master/view/admin/menu-page.php on line 12 where line 12 is:

13 $controller->print_form();

Unhappy – Didnt refund me

I purchased the gravity addition to this plugin. After install, I began to understand how it functioned and realized it does little to nothing. See others discussions here on wp for evidence.

Style out of the box is minimal and does not use your current theme. There is no header, body nor footer to even come close to your site. It appears you will have to code that yourself. Im not down with that on a paid plugin.

Also, it didnt work. At all. I requested a refund and was encouraged to fix it with support. Im too busy with working plugins to waste a bunch of time getting this to work. That should have been managed before putting it on the market.

I wont say this plugin is horrible, but its not ready for purchase for sure.

Good support

The very best thing is that they have the chat option so you cant talk with the support for various questions. If i recommend the plugin? Of course. Now i have only the free one but definettely will buy and use the addons for me and my clients.

Good idea but needs work

Nice idea and emails for multiple deletions now seem to work as expected after fixes.

Personally I can’t use it for my site as it collects incorrect data fields as being personal and no option to alter that yet. I wouldn’t recommend purchasing paid GF addon either until major update unless you have the most basic of forms ie vanilla contact form. It needs admin to be able to select what fields are private and not automatically have it guess from field attribute labels as it does presently. It also can’t show the IP address which is a requirement. Thought the updates last week might have solved these issues so waited before reviewing but changes seem to be superficial.

Support seems keen to help, just hoping there is major feature update before deadline. I’m sure they have a giant to-do list to work through. Hope can upgrade to 5 stars on next release.

Excellent plugin

Had a good look at all the offerings and chose this one.
Very glad I did, it works as it is supposed to.
Support is next to none, excellent stuff guys, keep it up!
Highly recommend this one!!
