Gatemi Trust Badges

Beschrijving

Gatemi Trust Badges puts a quiet row of reassurance under the button a shopper is about to press: the payment methods your checkout actually offers, and the promises your shop actually keeps.

The payment row is built from your own store. Every plugin in this category ships a lump of twenty card logos and lets you tick them — and then the shop advertises a scheme it cannot take, and the shopper finds out at the pay button, which is the one moment a trust badge is supposed to be earning its place. Here the row is read from the gateways you have switched on, named in the words your own checkout uses. Rename a gateway and the row follows it. Switch one off and it disappears. Offer none and there is no row at all rather than an empty strip.

Nothing is fetched from anybody else. Every icon is inline SVG shipped with the plugin, so it paints with the page, costs no request, works on a site with no outbound network, and takes its colour from your theme. No CDN, no third party watching your shoppers on the page where they are typing a card number, and nothing to break the day somebody else’s host moves.

No borrowed certifications. There is deliberately no “Norton Secured”, no “McAfee SECURE” and no “PCI Compliant” seal. Those marks belong to companies that certify a site; printing one you have not earned is a false claim on the page where a false claim matters most. What is here is your own truth in your own words — and the “Secure checkout” padlock is only offered when your site really is served over HTTPS.

Always below the button, never above it. A strip of reassurance between a shopper and the button they came for costs orders rather than winning them. The badges print through WooCommerce’s own hooks, after the button, and there is no JavaScript at all — so they work behind a page cache and cannot shift your layout.

FAQ

Why is there no Visa or Mastercard logo?

Because a card scheme’s logo is a trademark, and because the useful fact is what your shop accepts — which your checkout already says in your own words. The row names your gateways beside a neutral glyph, so it can never advertise a method you cannot take.

Why is the “Secure checkout” seal missing?

Your site is not being served over HTTPS. A padlock over an unencrypted checkout is the one claim this plugin will not print. Install a certificate and the seal appears.

Why is there no payment row at all?

Your checkout is not currently offering any payment method. An empty strip under a pay button is worse than no strip, so nothing is drawn.

Does it work with the Cart and Checkout blocks?

Yes. On the classic cart and checkout the row prints through WooCommerce’s own hooks, directly under the button. The Cart and Checkout blocks render on the shopper’s side and offer no hook beneath their buttons, so on a block page the row is drawn immediately after the block — still after the button, still server-rendered, still with no JavaScript.

Does this plugin phone home?

Nee. Het maakt helemaal geen externe aanvragen, en het laadt geen afbeeldingen van iemand anders.

Does it slow the checkout down?

Nee. Alles is inline markup gerenderd op de server met één klein stylesheet, en dat stylesheet wordt alleen geladen op een pagina die daadwerkelijk iets heeft getekend.

Changelog

1.0.0

  • Initiële release.
  • The payment row is built from the store’s own enabled gateways, named in the store’s own words — so it can never advertise a method the checkout cannot take. A shop offering none gets no row rather than an empty strip.
  • Every glyph is inline SVG shipped with the plugin: no CDN and no third-party request on the page where a shopper is typing a card number.
  • Geen geleende certificeringen. Het hangslot ‘Secure checkout’ wordt alleen aangeboden op een site die echt via HTTPS wordt aangeboden, gecontroleerd tijdens het renderen in plaats van bij het opslaan.
  • Badges print through WooCommerce’s own hooks, always below the button, on the product page, the cart and the checkout, or anywhere via [gatemi_trust_badges].
  • Seals for a guarantee, returns, dispatch and support, each in the merchant’s own wording, with an optional heading and an accent colour validated as a colour.
  • Zero JavaScript, no database tables, no post meta, no order meta, no cookie — uninstall removes one option.
