Deze plugin schakelt het thema, plugin en core update controlesysteem in WordPress uit. De plugin voorkomt dat WordPress controleert op updates inclusief cronjobs, en voorkomt dat update berichten worden getoond.

Het is zeer belangrijk dat je je WordPress thema, core en plugins up to date houdt. Als je dat niet doet kan je blog of site kwetsbaar worden voor beveiligingslekken of performance problemen.

Als je deze plugin gebuikt, zorg er dan zelf voor dat je up to date blijft met nieuwe releases van je actieve WordPress versie, plugins
en thema’s en update deze als nieuwe versies worden uitgebracht (door simpelweg deze plugin voor korte tijd te deactiveren).

Installatie

Download de plugin en pak hem uit.
Upload de disable-wordpress-updates/ map naar je /wp-content/plugins/ map.
Activeer de plugin vanuit je WordPress beheer paneel.
Installatie gereed

Door de plgin te activeren worden alle thema, core en plugin update controles buiten werking gesteld. Indien je snel wil kijken of er nieuwe versies beschikbaar zijn, deactiveer dan de plugin voor korte tijd.

Wat kan ik doen om up to date te blijven met nieuwe releases van mijn WordPress versie, plugins en thema’s?: Deactiveer de plugin voor een korte tijd. Als er nieuwe versies beschikbaar zijn zie je daarna de WordPress berichten.

I can confirm that this plugin not only deactivates most notifiaction banners and disables the communication with wordpress but also blocks the communication with the wordpress-update-checker and THIS is a huge plus! Without this regular checking all pages I installed the plugin run way faster, especially when I have Woocommerce active.

It's amazing how much faster the admin is with this plugin. It would be nice if the indicator in the admin-bar could be turned off, even through a hook, but whatever - it's good enough for me like this.

Thank you for your service to speed and sanity Oliver! 🙏 This instantly solve a large amount of unnecessary Admin speed issues. ⚡️ Just try it for a few minutes, and compare your Admin speed before and after activating! Set yourself up a separate Wordpress instance with the free MainWP plugin, and use that for managing all your site updates automatically, manually, or a mix from there instead. I've been working with Wordpress for about 15 years. This is the way. 💪

Speeds up the admin pages. Goes to show how poorly optimized the default update checking is. Not to mention the irritating notices some plugin authors nag us with at the top of screen that can't be removed. Those notices are the reason I installed this plugin.
