W3 Total Cache on GoDaddy VPS server
-
I am currently building a comparison website using a couple of plugins:
– WooCommerce
– WP All Import
– WP All Import – Woocommerce Add-On
– W3 Total Cache (Currently disabled)Theme:
Genesis Framework with Epik theme. I have also used the Genesis for WooCommerce plugin.Server:
– GoDaddy
– VPS Server (Linux)
– Operating System: CentOS6
– RAM: 1 GB
– Control Panel Type: CPanelNow the issue I am dealing with:
I currently have almost 27.000 products on my website. (Imported csv file trough WP All Import.
When I have set WooCommerce to show products on the home page it has a loading time of 3,5 seconds (Pingdom). (Which I think is already a bit high.)
Now when I set WooCommerce to show subcategories on the home page it has a loading time of 25-30 seconds (Pingdom). In the future I would like to have a couple million products on the website. In the near future about 500.000 products.
It currently looks like I am never going to make it like this.I also had W3 total cache activated but that only made things much worse. The page looks like it takes forever to load. However Pingdom gives about 2,5 seconds.
Ofcourse I could but the upgrade for W3 total cache but then I would need some assuarance that it will actually work. And I would prefer a couple of very good tutorials on how to make the settings.
Is W3 Total Cache actually the right solution for me?
A week ago I was still working on a shared server. Can you imagine the trouble I had back then?
If anyone could help me with this I would be very thankful.
