• Hi there,

I’ve been at this for quite some time now and read this forum from A to Z, but still can’t find a solution. Have to admit I am a newbie and don’t understand all the technical comments, however WP makes it look very easy to install with MAMP. Meaning it should be possible for me too 😉

The problem is that I getting this error message when going to: http://localhost:8889/wordpress/

    Not Found
The requested URL /wordpress/ was not found on this server.

The txt doc that opens says:
    J
    5.5.34{‘N3R&b>ˇ˜ÄNLqtsf%”zb^.mysql_native_password!ˇÑ#08S01Got packets out of order

Checked if Apache and MySQL are both working (green light): YES

I read in a thread that it might help to show my Apache log file:

Can anyone please help me identify my installation problem and give me concrete pointer to solve it? Remember I am a newbie 😉

    Thanks you!

  • Can you show how you defined the host in MAMP? Maybe a screenshot? Which version of MAMP are you using? And are you using MAMP or MAMP PRO?
