Keep the bots out.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>MisticGate\u2122 places a private gate in front of the standard WordPress login page. You reach the login form from your gate bookmark. Brute-force bots never get that far.<\/p>\n\n<p>As soon as you install MisticGate, the screen for setting your gate URL opens. After you bookmark it, check the box and enable the gate, and setup is complete.<\/p>\n\n<h4>What MisticGate does<\/h4>\n\n<ul>\n<li>Puts a private gate in front of your login page.<\/li>\n<li>Administrators with a valid session skip the gate. You choose which other roles may skip it too.<\/li>\n<li>Supports Multisite, with one gate for the whole network or a gate for each site.<\/li>\n<li>After you pass through the gate with a single-use pass, reusing that pass returns a 404.<\/li>\n<li>The gate URL is built so you can switch it periodically while you keep using the gate.<\/li>\n<li>The settings screen also has documentation that explains recovery and more.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<h4>Recommended setup<\/h4>\n\n<p>MisticGate is the first layer. We recommend combining it with:<\/p>\n\n<ul>\n<li>Two-factor authentication (2FA) from a security plugin.<\/li>\n<li>A login challenge, such as a math question or CAPTCHA.<\/li>\n<li>HTTPS and strong, unique passwords.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<!--section=installation-->\n<ol>\n<li>Install and activate MisticGate. The settings screen opens.<\/li>\n<li>Copy the gate URL and save it as a bookmark.<\/li>\n<li>Confirm that you saved the bookmark, then enable the gate.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n<p>From then on, log in from your bookmark.<\/p>\n\n<!--section=faq-->\n<dl>\n<dt id=\"i%20lost%20my%20gate%20url.%20how%20do%20i%20log%20in%3F\"><h3>I lost my gate URL. How do I log in?<\/h3><\/dt>\n<dd><p>Add <code>define( 'MISTICGATE_DISABLE', true );<\/code> to <code>wp-config.php<\/code> and log in.
