I have tried my bilingual blog with different approaches, multisite with plugins, and single site with plugins. The best an also cost cost- effective solution ended up in two separate WordPress blogs with a unique domain for each language. This plug-in helps to link the articles with an available translation.
Unfortunately, no Gutenberg Themes like twenty-twentytree or twenty-twenty four are supported.
