Redirect all 404 missing links to the homepage using a 301 redirect. This means all broken links will still count towards your site’s SEO ranking.

We designed this plugin to be very lightweight. There are no options or settings (or annoying banner ads trying to sell SEO services). Simply activate the plugin and you’re done! It will redirect 404s silently in the background without slowing down your website.

Installatie

Go to the Plugins > Add New screen in your WordPress dashboard.
Search for “404 to homepage”. Click Install and activate it.
That’s all! If you try accessing a page which does not exist, you will be redirected to the homepage.

I encountered a false positive from Wordfence reporting a modified plugin file. I checked the plugin code and contacted the developer through the support forum. Sean was very helpful, investigated the issue, and released an update that fixed the problem. After updating to version 1.1, the Wordfence warning disappeared and the scan was clean. Excellent support and a developer who actually listens and acts on feedback. Highly recommended!
